Date: Tuesday, July 29, 2014Time: 8:30am - 3:00pm
Location: Fordham University, Lincoln Center Campus
Audience: Elementary and secondary school teachers, administrators, counselors, special educators
Description:
How do digital tools affect our lives as individuals? As educators? How might we use digital tools to engage students in critical and creative thinking? How can we help students to understand technology as an aid to learning, rather than a distraction from it? Participants will explore these questions and more as they consider the impact of technology on literacy. Featured speakers include Sara Kajder, author of Adolescent Digital Literacies, Troy Hicks, author of Digital Writing Workshop and Crafting Digital Writing, and practicing NYC teachers who will share classroom demonstrations. A special breakout for administrators will focus on policies, practices, and possibilities in developing digital literacies at the school level.
Upon completion, certificates for professional development will be conferred, which can be used towards required PD hours for new teachers.
Payment of $100.00 may be paid by purchase order, check or money order. Your registration will be finalized once your payment has been processed.
